Florida Orthopedic Head Quarters

With this new facility, Florida Orthopedic is enhancing their ability to serve the growing community by increasing efficiency and providing comprehensive care in one convenient location. The new 82,000-square-foot Primary Orthopedic Campus is designed to optimize the patient experience, streamlining processes, reducing wait times, and integrating specialized orthopedic services under one roof. FOI’s current location has been the practice’s busiest clinic, serving over 100,000 patient visits annually.

Services  Provided

ACCI was contracted to design and implement the low voltage systems infrastructure for Florida Orthopedic Institute’s new headquarters. The objective was to provide a robust, scalable, and integrated communications network to support daily operations, security, and facility-wide connectivity. We provided a complete turnkey low voltage solution, including design, installation, and testing of the following systems:

  • Structured Cabling System – Category 6 riser-rated cabling, OM3 multimode fiber Complete end-to-end Panduit and Corning infrastructure
  • Access Control System – Secure credentialed entry points integrated with the facility’s management platform
  • Security and Video Surveillance System – Networked IP cameras strategically placed for complete coverage
  • Paging and Intercom System – Facility-wide communication
  • Backbone & Riser Cabling Infrastructure – High-performance data pathways ensuring seamless connectivity between departments

Key Aspects

  • All components are ANSI/EIA/TIA 568 and EIA/TIA 569 compliant.
  • Cabling infrastructure ensures 10GBASE-T Ethernet capabilities and future network expansions.
  • Comprehensive documentation, including as-built drawings, test results, and certifications, provided to FOI for all installations.
  • Graybar: Logistics partner, ensuring efficient procurement and delivery of materials.
  • Panduit & Corning: Provided end-to-end solutions for fiber optic and copper cabling to connect essential components, guaranteeing consistency and quality throughout

Challenges

Large-scale new construction projects inherently bring scheduling and coordination challenges.
Key challenges included:

  • Maintaining pace with the evolving construction schedule.
  • Coordinating with multiple trades working simultaneously across the 82,000 sq. ft. footprint.
  • Ensuring all installations aligned with both architectural and safety requirements.

To overcome these challenges, ACCI held weekly coordination meetings with the general contractor to stay aligned on construction milestones and adapt scheduling as needed.

Solutions

Through proactive communication and experienced project management, ACCI maintained seamless progress throughout the project.
Our technicians’ expertise in large-scale installations allowed for:

  • Efficient deployment of cabling infrastructure without conflicts with other trades.
