Bristol Myers Squibb Meridian 3 Renovation

Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is a global biopharmaceutical leader focused on innovative science and patient-centered solutions. For their expansion into the Tampa Bay area, BMS acquired the 9th and 10th floors of the Meridian 3 Building, creating over 44,000 square feet of advanced office and laboratory space.

Scope of Work

ACCI was awarded the contract to design and install a comprehensive low-voltage cabling infrastructure to support Bristol Myers’ expanding network and communication needs.

The project scope included the installation of a Berk-Tek and Leviton structured cabling solution utilizing Category 6A copper cabling and OS2  Singlemode fiber.

Our structured cabling provided network connectivity for:

  • Office spaces and cubicle furniture
  • Conference rooms and collaboration spaces
  • Cameras and security systems
  • Room schedulers and access control
  • Lighting and HVAC controls

  Technology & Equipment

  • Structured Cabling: Berk-Tek & Leviton Cat 6A and OS2 Fiber Solutions
  • Rack Infrastructure: Chatsworth Products Inc. (CPI)
  • Power Management: APC Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems for consistent network uptime
  • Sound Masking: Industry-leading Lencore Sound Masking System
  • DAS System: To ensure seamless in-building coverage for enhanced wireless communication

MDF and IDF Buildouts

ACCI completed full Main Distribution Frame (MDF) and Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) buildouts, leveraging Chatsworth Products (CPI) enclosures and cable management solutions to ensure long-term reliability and organized network distribution.

Manpower and Scheduling

To meet the aggressive timeline, ACCI deployed a flexible workforce ranging from 3 to 13 technicians on site at different stages.
Despite an accelerated project schedule, ACCI has maintained consistent progress and continues to meet all scheduled milestones without delay.

 Safety and Compliance

  • Bristol Myers Squibb required strict adherence to safety standards and site-specific compliance requirements, including:
  • Mandatory use of platform ladders with safety gates for work above 4 feet
  • Approved hard hats : EN 12492.2012, ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-14 Type 2 Class C
  • CPR-certified team member on site
  • OSHA 30-certified supervisor
  • Active ISNetworld Subscription

ACCI met and exceeded all safety requirements, maintaining an incident-free jobsite.

Challenges & Solutions

The primary challenge for this project was the accelerated schedule, requiring detailed coordination with multiple trades and precise execution. Through careful planning, skilled manpower management, and daily progress tracking, ACCI maintained momentum and remained within projected deadlines. There were no technical or physical complications reported during installation, a testament to ACCI’s experience and proactive project management.

Project Outcome

Upon completion, Bristol Myers Squibb will benefit from a future-ready network infrastructure capable of supporting advanced communication systems, reliable data transmission, and the high-performance needs of a modern pharmaceutical workspace.

Key Results

  • On track for on-time completion
  • Zero safety incidents
  • Seamless integration with other building systems
  • Scalable, high-performance cabling infrastructure
