To accommodate record-breaking passenger growth, Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) undertook a $105 million terminal expansion, adding a five-gate terminal with advanced amenities, enhanced security, and modernized technology systems. The new terminal features a four-lane security checkpoint, electronic displays, advanced public address systems, and inclusive accessibility features.

ACCI was entrusted with the design, installation, and commissioning of critical technology systems, while also contributing to the optimization of project infrastructure. Through strategic collaboration and decision-making, ACCI successfully reduced costs, enhanced efficiency, and supported a seamless installation process.
Â
Collaborated with the design team and trades to consolidate infrastructure for all systems under a sole-source cabling contractor. This approach reduced installation time by approximately 15% and significantly lowered costs compared to specialty contractor installations. Installed cabling infrastructure for the following systems:
Installed state-of-the-art displays, media players, and networking gear to enhance passenger navigation and operational efficiency.
In collaboration with Altel Systems Group, integrated reliable, high-quality audio solutions tailored to the terminal’s needs. Installed speakers, amplifiers, zone controllers, and head-end equipment, including an upgrade to the entire airport’s head-end audio system.
Partnered with Convergint Technologies to provide and install Avigilon IP cameras ranging from 2MP to 15MP. Delivered highly detailed images and situational awareness for the airport’s operations and security teams.
In partnership with Convergint Technologies, installed a Lenel access control system and HID card readers, securing the SIDA (Secure Identification Display Area) and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Collaborated with Complete Hearing Solutions to install hearing loop systems in the hold rooms, enabling passengers with hearing disabilities to hear flight information and pages seamlessly throughout the airport.
Supported the redesign and rework of the backbone infrastructure to accommodate changes in pathways, exterior vaults, and site work for the new Ground Boarding Facility. Worked with the design team to provide input on cost and constructability for various solutions, ensuring optimal results.
Addressed design conflicts through BIM modeling, ensuring seamless coordination with other trades and reducing potential delays.
To improve efficiency, ACCI partnered with Graybar, leveraging their local office near SRQ for staging and delivering just-in-time material deliveries. This strategy minimized site congestion, improved scheduling efficiency, and ensured materials were available precisely when needed.
ACCI’s collaborative efforts with the design team and other trades prioritized constructability and cost control. By consolidating structured and specialty cabling under a single contractor, ACCI:
